It is widely used as a nonionic surfactant and emollient in cosmetics and personal care products, exhibiting excellent hydrophilicity and skin compatibility.
Production method:
Primarily derived from natural coconut oil, it is synthesized by the reaction of natural lauric acid with ethylene oxide and glycerol.
Purpose:
1. Skin Nourishment and Hydration:
PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate exhibits excellent lipidocentric properties, replenishing skin lipids during cleansing, reducing moisture loss, and enhancing post-wash softness and hydration. When synergized with glycerin, it forms a water-locking network, maintaining a 75% 24-hour moisturization rate.
2. Gentle cleaning, reducing irritation:
As a non-ionic surfactant, it is often used in combination with amino acid anionic surfactants (such as sodium cocoyl glycinate), which can significantly reduce the formula's degreasing power by 38% while maintaining a cleaning efficiency of over 94%. It is particularly suitable for products with sensitive and dry skin.
3. Solubilization and emulsification:
It can be used as a solubilizer for oil soluble ingredients such as essence and plant extracts to help manufacture transparent formulas; At the same time, it has the auxiliary emulsification function to improve the stability and fineness of the lotion system.
4. Wide applicability:
